Thirsti is committed to the responsible sale, service and consumption of alcohol. As a licensed online retailer we take these obligations seriously in how we sell, market and deliver wine.
2. The Law
Under section 117 of the Liquor Act 2007 (NSW) it is an offence to sell or supply liquor to, or to obtain liquor on behalf of, a person under 18. It is also an offence for a minor to purchase, consume, possess or obtain liquor.
3. Age Verification
You must be 18 or older to use this website or buy from Thirsti. We verify age at website entry and before completing a purchase, and we may require photographic identification at any time, including at delivery:
Australian driver licence
Passport
NSW photo card or proof-of-age card
Digital iD
4. Refusal of Service
We reserve the right to refuse sale or delivery to any person, including where age cannot be verified, where the recipient appears intoxicated, or where we suspect the alcohol is intended for a minor.
5. Safe Delivery
Deliveries are made by our fulfilment partner, Active OzeWine Services (ABN 71 970 982 034). Every delivery requires the signature of a person 18 or older, drivers request ID on any doubt, and alcohol is never left unattended.
6. Drinking Guidelines
The National Health and Medical Research Council advises: healthy adults should drink no more than 10 standard drinks a week and no more than 4 on any one day. Women who are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding are safest not drinking. Under 18, not drinking is the safest option.
7. Know Your Standard Drinks
In Australia one standard drink contains 10 grams of alcohol. Wine at 12% alc/vol: 100ml is one standard drink. Fortified wine at 18% alc/vol: 60ml is one standard drink.
